Hostel Sebilj is located only a few minutes by foot from Bascarsija. Bascarsija is the old historical and cultural part of Sarajevo. Bascarsija was build in the 15th century, when Isa Beg Isakovic founded the whole town. The word Bascarsija comes originaly from the word "Bas", which means "main" and the word "carsija"i which means "market" in Turkish.
